The sermon burden
This message confronts the distance between the yes we give God in His presence and the choices we make after the service ends. James's mirror exposes how hearing can become self-deception, while Galatians shows that the Holy Ghost not only reveals resistance but supplies grace for the next obedient step. Spirit-filled living becomes visible when Christ's lordship reaches our apologies, reactions, wounds, desires, habits, and repeated choices. Communion turns the question toward Jesus: the Savior asking for our surrender first gave Himself for us, rose again, and gives His Spirit so the next yes can become a walk.
Truth to carry
The service may end. But by His grace, I will keep walking.

The mirror worked: seeing what the Word exposed is not the same as surrendering to it.

Repeated disobedience can train us to sleep through the alarm of conviction, but mercy can awaken our response again.

We cannot sincerely ask God to have His way while quietly keeping veto power whenever His will crosses ours.

Spiritual movement is not the final evidence of formation; over time, the fruit growing in our ordinary relationships reveals what is governing us.

The Holy Ghost wants access to the unedited response that surfaces under pressure, including the wounds from which we learned to react.

Every response is rehearsal: repeated surrender forms a walk just as repeated negotiation forms resistance.
